OK it is Sunday evening April 3, 2011. Seem like it was just Friday April 1. April Fools Day, and what an April fools day it was. We woke to about 3 inches of snow. See the photos in the slide show later in the blog. This is a New England Spring if I ever saw one. At least this April 1 we only received 3 inches of snow here. North of here the news say that 12 to 15 inches of fresh white stuff fell. Good for the snow lovers. This bring the total snow level to 82 inches for the winter of 2010/2011 (Boston Official measurement). Back in 1997 we received 32 inches of snow on April 1. I put the snow blower away a week ago (go figure) Hopefully now the snow is finished and spring is allowed to come in. Today most of the 3 inches of snow is gone but we still have winter remnants of snow in our back yard of about 4 to 6 inches in places. We do have some hints of Spring in a few lonely spring flowers in the front garden. Some of my friends have already completed their spring clean-up, I can not even start. So since this was the first weekend in April it also was the annual warehouse sale at my favorite store, Defender Marine! So off to Waterford CT. This is my annual pilgrimage (see previous blog entries called Muffins in Moosup) to the holy grail of boating supplies at a discounted prices (sort of). Well we all know that BOAT is short for Break Out Another Thousand. Well at least this trip we did not do that. We actually only spent a small fraction of that but we did get some needed items. We also visited the local Marine Consignment store and found a much needed part. We have been making progress against the boats project list and will post some photos soon of the port light installation progress. Well, as the title of the blog says the weekend is over again before it started. Boating supply shopping on Saturday and today we (Beth) did laundry and vacuumed the house and I worked on some boat projects that I can do here at home and also completed some more dinghy re-building. I also managed to back-up some photos and organize some of my files. I need another week off to get my desk organized. Anyway here are the most recent winter photos.
