I promised several times I would add new photos, so they are here!
After we installed the new opening hatches on the foredeck – I had to make window screens for them so we could leave them open at night and not worry about the mosquitos. You can see the screen in one of the photos. Most hatch screens sit on the outside, on top of the hatch, but you have to go outside to put them on and take them off. These attach with velcro to the ceiling, so we can leave them on all the time and just ‘peel open’ to open and close the hatch. Much more convenient!
If you look closely at some of the photos, you can see that the decks and roofs are a light grey color, pebbly – looking, compared to the white of the pilot house. This is the new non-skid Durabak paint we put on. We LOVE it! It is much cooler to the touch than the old white paint, and you are very safe when it is wet. At some point before winter I will be painting the sides of the pilot house and main salon with white epoxy paint, and in the fall we will put another coat of the Durabak on the decks.
