Bald Eagles on the Taunton River

I WISH I had a photo to share with you, but we just didn’t have the chance- or the right lens…

We knew that there are several active Bald Eagle nests in the area (Fall River on Watuppa, for example) based upon the 2013 MA Bald Eagle Survey.  http://www.mass.gov/eea/pr-2013/bald-eagle-nesting-survey-finds-30-active-nests.html

The other day Kevin saw a very large bird on one of the ice floes running down river on the outgoing tide- I couldn’t see it but he said it looked “kind of” like our Vultures- but they won’t be back until spring.

On Saturday, again on the outgoing tide -we saw two birds, got out the binoculars, and confirmed that they were two Juvenile Bald Eagles- Very Cool!
